inspection, monitoring and review

As the extent and diversity of Greenbelt's portfolio grows, effective management, monitoring and review of both the amenity areas and their associated features and the maintenance contracts awarded by Greenbelt to our contractors is increasingly important.

General

A central system of remote reporting is used by contractors and our lands managers to update our central information server. Up and coming development of our IT network will introduce a GIS based reporting function which will further enhance real time reporting of monitoring and management activities.

Play Areas

Our landscape managers also have play area safety inspection qualifications so we are able to undertake the full range of inspection services of play areas both prior to handover to Greenbelt after implementation and regular inspections needed to meet increasingly stringent EU regulations for play area inspection as part of our long term management.

Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems SUDS

Through the introduction of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) initiative operated by the DTi we have engaged a SUDS Associate, who is a graduate of University of Abertay's Urban Water Technology Centre. The Partnership Team work to transfer their expertise in this area to Greenbelt by means of practical methodologies and procedures for the successful long term operation and maintenance of SUDS components. This long term project will culminate in the formation of a Centre of Excellence within the Company, providing advice and support within the industry.
