Greenbelt in Bloom: West Myreton, Menstrie

This is a new feature for us where we will bring you a selection of up to date photographs from one of our developments. We want to show you typical examples of the work we carry out all over the country on public open spaces. Each development is unique, but ground maintenance work should be to a good standard and enhance the sometimes stark lines of houses and roads. There are also different features on developments, and we will use this feature to highlight the wide variety of design, available facilities, and plant material that is used.

Our first featured development is West Myreton in Menstrie, in central Scotland's Clackmannanshire area. The council's motto used to be "Look Aboot Ye", and what can be more appropriate in this beautiful setting which nestles in the foothills of the Ochil Hills. Greenbelt has been involved with the development since 2004, and began to take on completed phases from the developers the following year. Title for the major part of the site was transferred to us in January this year, and there now remains just one final phase for the developer to finish. The development, once complete, will contain over 300 houses and have a variety of features including young woodland, play areas, and a sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS). We hope you will get a flavour of this beautiful housing development from the pictures to the side.
