- Greenbelt shortlisted for National Award
The award ceremony was held in the Dunblane Hydro on 02 February and featured fourteen of the very best national projects. Each of the finalists had been classed as either "Outstanding" or "Very Good", and were also filmed prior to the event.
Janet McQuillan, Greenbelt's Head of Operations, led the team and commented, "It was a great experience, and although we did not win the big award, we did fantastically well to be one of the top projects".
SUDS are an eco friendly way of minimising local flood risk and are an alternative to expensive storm overflows. They are designed to take water away from a site and to remove pollutants before discharging at a controlled rate to a watercourse. SUDS are also recognised as having a positive influence on wildlife allowing insect, animal and birdlife to flourish.
